Document Description
DWR staff will clear-out sediment and debris from culverts located along the SBA. The upstream opening of culverts will be cleared by hand tools or a backhoe. Raw water will then be injected toward the downstream opening to mimic natural stormwater runoff until the culvert is clear of obstructions. Removed material will be pushed into the v-ditch and a road grader will shape the v-ditch to original drainage specifications. Staging will be on existing roadways and all work is within DWR right of way.

Reasons for Exemption
The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves routine maintenance activities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance as this activity will be implemented without any environmental impacts.
