Document Description
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) proposes to implement pedestrian and bicycle· safety improvements on Valencia Street, between 15th Street and 23rd Street, as part of the Valencia Bikeway Project (project). The project would convert the existing curbside Class II bicycle lanes into a center-running. protected bikeway (Class IV) and implement pedestrian safety improvements such as daylighting and advanced limit lines. Valencia Street between lSth Street and 23rd Street is on the High Injury Network . The project supports the citywide Vision Zero initiative to quickly implement safety improvements on the High Injury Network.

The SFMTA, a public agency, would implement pedestrian and bicycle safety facilities within an existing public right of way in an urbanized area; the project would not exceed a cost of fifty million dollars ($50,000,000) and would be constructed by SFMTA.
