Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes an emergency bridge and embankment scour repair on Bear Creek bridge (No. 40-0003) on State Route 140 at postmile 28.33 in Mariposa County. Work includes removing all unstable material, backfill under abutment, place rock slope protection, water diversion, and revegetation. Partial closure for the side road adjacent to the work area is anticipated. All work will be within Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of the project is to address the excessive bridge scour along the east abutment to Bear Creek bridge and surrounding creek embankments due to recent storms. The need of this project is to prevent and mitigate the loss or impairment of life, property, or essential public services.
