Document Description
This project proposes to upgrade existing crosswalks located throughout Butte, Colusa, Nevada, Sacramento, Sierra, Sutter, and Yolo Counties on routes 99, 162, 20, 89, 160, 49 and 128 in District 3. The existing crosswalks will be replaced by ladder type pavement markings. Furthermore, the ladder pattern crosswalks will increase pedestrian visibility to motorists and allow safe crossing at the intersections. All construction work will be executed on existing pavement and within Caltrans ROW boundaries. Furthermore, this project will not require trenching for new utilities works, new pavement, staging areas or temporary construction easements. The project will also install new pedestrian roadside signs in the vicinity of the high visibility crosswalks to warn motorists, as they are approaching the intersections.
