Document Description
This project will extend existing concrete pads at all nine (9) campsites within Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park to replace existing bear-proof food lockers to provide safe food storage for park visitors. At each existing campsite, adjacent to each of the nine (9) existing concrete pads, work will: • Remove up to 6-inches of topsoil to establish a level surface; • Pour a 6-in. x 32-in. x 7-in. concrete pad on the leveled surface, as an extension to the existing pad; and • Use bolts to secure one (1) 28-in. deep x 48-in. long x 42.4-in. high, rugged metal bear box (total storage volume of 40 gal) to each of the newly poured concrete pad extensions.
