Document Description
In order to retain Local Land use authority, the State requires Sonoma County to develop and maintain a Local Coastal Program to regulate land use and protect coastal resources in compliance with the Coastal Act. On July 17, 2023, the Board of Supervisors approved Sonoma County’s Local Coastal Plan, the land use plan of the Local Coastal Program. The Local Coastal Plan is statutorily exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per CEQA Guidelines Section 15265, Adoption of Coastal Plans and Programs.
