Document Description
San Joaquin Field Division plans to remove sediment and debris from the double overchute and flow path at mile marker (MM) 275.56 of the State Water Project (SWP) California aqueduct to prepare for the upcoming El Nino rainstorms. A skid steer, bulldozer, loader, motor grader, and excavator will be used to remove sediment and debris, and to form a bowl in the inlet to capture excess sediment. A dump truck will be used to haul away material approximately 2 miles east of the project site to the Wheeler Ridge pumping plant (WRPP) spoil pile site. At the spoil pile site, the material will be dumped and spread out to prevent piles. Equipment will be stored at the WRPP. All work will take place within the DWR right-of-way. This work is necessary to prevent flooding and damage to the SWP infrastructure.
