Document Description
Caltrans proposes to preserve and extend the life of existing pavement along State Route (SR) 61 within this corridor. The project proposes to cold plane the asphalt concrete pavement of SR 61 and replace with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). The purpose of the project is to preserve and extend the life of the existing pavement, improve its ride quality, and upgrade existing Metal Beam Guardrail (MBGR) to Midwest Guardrail Systems (MGS) and install delineators and rumble strips. The project is needed because pavement condition surveys indicate that the portions of SR 61 within the project limits are in fair condition. In addition, the existing MBGR needs to be upgraded up to current Caltrans standards.
