Document Description
The Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works 2020 Culvert Replacement Program entails removal of existing deteriorating culverts and installing replacement culverts prioritizing those with trench plates. Twelve culverts will be replaced: 1) West Sexton Road Postmile (PM) 10.95 2) West Sexton Road PM 10.53 3) WestSexton Road PM 10.84 4) Daywalt Road PM 20.42 5) Daywalt Road PM 20.27 6) Daywalt Road PM 20.22 7) Daywalt Road PM 20.12 8) Westside Road PM 16.45 9) Burnside Road PM 20.36 10) Bohemian Hwy. PM 11.70 11) Mill Street PM 30.10 12) PepperlanePM20.53 This project consists of structural excavation to remove existing cross culverts, installation of re placement cross culverts, cut-off walls, and rock slope protection, as needed. Trenches will be backfilled, hot mix asphalt placed, and striping painted. If water is present at the worksite or has the potential to come into contact with curing concrete, a water diversion plan will be implemented. Erosion and sediment control BMPs will be used and installed a teach worksite. No trees will be removed during construction; however, some pruning and ground vegetation may be required to access the work sites.

The proposed project is categorically exempt from environmental review pursuant to Sections 15301 [Existing Facilities] and 15302 [Replacement or Reconstruction] of the Guidelines for Implementation of CEQA. Section 1530J (c) exempts the repair or minor alteration of existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities. Section 15302(c) exempts the replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity. No exceptions listed under Section 15300.2 apply. There is no reasonable possibilitythatthe project would have a significant effect on the environment.
