Document Description
The project proposes to install emergency back-up generators at 4 City of Redlands water system pump stations to provide electrical power to the facilities in the event of a power outage. Minor trenching on previously disturbed non-native soils at a depth no greater than 50cm to connect the generators to electrical system will occur. In addition, concrete footings will be poured to provide a level foundation for the generator. These generators are necessary to provide essential public services during power outage events and would operate under emergency conditions and during occasional maintenance.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt from review of CEQA because it involves only minor ground disturbance to previously disturbed non-native soils at existing pump stations in San Bernardino County. Field review by City of Redlands staff confirmed no exceptions apply which would preclude the use of a Notice of Exemption for this project. It has been determined that these activities will have a less than significant impact to the environment.
