Notice of Determination for Mill Creek Fire Fuel Mitigation Project. The project involves three (3) areas within Mill Creek Park as follows: Area1: Mill Creek Park Picnic Area & Recreation Area, described as starting at 350-ft NW of centerline of the picnic area driveway, then heading SE along Mill Creek Road for a total of 850-ft. and then perpendicular from Mill Creek Road to 100-ft. above the foot of the hill to the SW; Area 2: described as surrounding the Upper Parking Lot starting 100-ft. SE of centerline of eastern entry to Upper Parking Lot and heading NW along Mill Creek Road for 1000-ft., and including 100-ft. from all roads or parking areas along said distance; Area 3: described as the southern end of the upper most pond, starting 50-ft. NW of the small parking lot, then following Mill Creek Road to the SE for 450-ft.,
and including 100-ft. from Mill Creek Road to the SW. Within the three (3) areas, trees are to be cleared of any burnable fuels and ladder fuels up to 10-feet from the ground, trees less than 6 inches in diameter shall be removed, except within 3 feet of the high water mark of any waterway, areas are to be cleared of all other vegetation down to 2 inches, no heavy equipment, including chippers are to be used within 50-feet of the high water mark of any waterways and all lying trees and logs are to be removed or chipped.

The proposed project is for the implementation of Fire Fuel Reduction at the Mill
Creek Park Area situated on both sides of Mill Creek Road, as this is a one-way in/out for most residents in the area. The fire fuel mitigation work includes approximately 12 acres. The Mill Creek Park is a 400-acre park located 2.5 miles east of the community of Talmage, CA Mill Creek Park is located at 2993 Mill Creek Road, Talmage, CA within Mendocino County, and located at 39° 07' 31.37"N/123° 07' 38.92"W.
