Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project is exempt under State CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 Existing Facilities, which is a Class 1 exemption. Class 1 exemptions, “consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency’s determination.” The proposed project consists of a request for approval of a Plot Plan to modify an existing unmanned wireless communication facility on an existing 46-foot-tall mono-eucalyptus tower, and other associated equipment. The project would not create an expansion of the existing wireless facility.
