Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-LAN-33126-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison (SCE) as represented by Hazem Gabr. The Project involves the removal of one 65-foot deteriorated wood pole, 827856E, from an unnamed stream to relocate a new 60-foot wood pole outside the stream. A 190-foot-long by 8-foot-wide access path will be cut using a weed whacker and hand tools. Crews will stage within the 25-foot work area at the pole. Removal of the pole will be conducted using hand tools, including but not limited to shovels, chainsaws, and rope slings. The pole will be cut into manageable size pieces. The pieces will be stored in upland areas away from the stream channel. Once it is removed, it will be moved out of the streambed and stored along the access road. Crew members will use shovels to dig around the structure to loosen it for removal. A rope sling will be used to lift the pole butt out of the ground. Following the pole removal, the empty pole site will be backfilled with excess soil from the newly installed pole and the area surrounding the old pole site. The hole will be filled so it is brought to grade and does not create a danger to wildlife. Any excess materials will be removed from the site and disposed of in a facility licensed to accept waste materials. All temporarily disturbed areas will be returned to pre-construction contours.
