The proposed project is to stabilize the footing of the western bridge pier on Fowler Creek Bridge on Watmaugh Road, Sonoma County, California. The existing state of the bridge cannot support traffic traveling on the westbound lane, which has been closed by the county. Currently, all traffic must cross the bridge on the east bound lane. While the bridge remains damaged, commuters must take turns using the one eastbound lane; leading to miscommunication and potential safety issues.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is statutorily exempt under Section. 15269 (a) to maintain, repair, restore, demolish, or replace property or facilities damaged or destroyed as a result of a disaster in a disaster stricken area in which a state of emergency has been
proclaimed by the Governor pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act.
The proposed project is categorically exempt from environmental review pursuantto Sections 15301 [Existing Facilities] and 15302 [Replacement or Reconstruction]of the Guidelines for Implementation of CEQA. Section 1530J (c) exempts the repair or minor alteration of existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities. No exceptions listed under Section 15300.2 apply. There is no reasonable possibility that the project would have a significant effect on the environment for CESA listed species.
