Document Description
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is undergoing emergency work on State Route (SR) 101 in Humboldt County between Post Mile (PM) 52.6 – 70.6 and SR 299 between PM 1.55 – 1.56 pertaining to damage caused by a magnitude 6.4 earthquake on December 20, 2022, that occurred off the Northern California coastline near the city of Ferndale in Humboldt County. A State of CA emergency proclamation was issued for this event on December 20, 2022. The earthquake caused widespread damage throughout Humboldt County. The purpose of this project is to keep the roadway safely open to the public and repair the various bridge locations to pre-earthquake damage conditions.
