Reasons for Exemption
On June 13, 2023, the City of Placentia Planning Commission, acting as the lead agency, evaluated the potential for adverse environmental impacts; and no evidence has been found that the proposed project will have adverse effects on the environment. The project involves repurposing a presently vacant retail space to become a hardware store, with a 1,995-square foot outdoor retail component. The Planning Commission found that this project is Categorically Exempt pursuant to §15301 of the CEQA Guidelines, being an existing facility use in a shopping center designed for the use, the entitlement is not expected to generate any negative or otherwise adverse impacts on the environment.
