Document Description
DWR and Contractor will perform water well work at Barker Slough Pumping Plant. The six-inch water well will be destroyed. The Contractor will remove the pump column and fill the well casing with grout to the ground surface. If the pump column cannot be removed, the Contractor will proceed with over drilling and filling in of the open borehole per CA Well Standards. Drill cuttings will be hauled off site for disposal at a landfill. Access will be via existing roadways. All work will be on disturbed paved area and within DWR right of way.

The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves routine maintenance activities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance as this activity will be implemented without any significant environmental impacts.
