Document Description
The project is limited to the repair of Moscow Road that failed during the 2019 and 2022 storms and flooding. The project will entail construction of two retaining walls and repair of the road prism. Two new retaining walls will be constructed on the downhill side of the roadway to restore lateral support to the roadway edge. The retaining wall will consist of an approximately 8-foot high and 60-foot-long concrete grade beam wall, that will be supported on nine 24-inch concrete cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles that will be approximately 20 feet deep and a 82-foot-long concrete grade beam wall with the same style of support infrastructure. The project will result in approximately 1,045 square feet of permanent impacts to riparian habitat, and approximately 2,439 square feet of temporary impact to riparian habitat. Access and staging for the project will occur within the existing roadway and roadside pullouts. No trees will be removed as part of this project, but several trees may be trimmed for site access.
