Document Description
The project is limited to the removal of an existing dock measuring approximately 1,168 square feet, and replacement with a new floating dock measuring 916 square feet to be used for small boat staging and launching. The new dock will be prefabricated and made of polyethylene or similar high durability inert plastic material.
Construction of the new dock will include anchoring of the dock with three 16-inch diameter fiberglass or steel pilings installed into the riverbed, impacting approximately 4 square feet of open channel habitat. Construction will also include installation of 40-foot-long gangway ramp from the bank to the dock that will measure approximately
120 square feet and will be located within the footprint of the existing dock. A 15 square foot concrete footing to anchor the gangway will be constructed at the top of bank. The project will not have any new permanent impacts. Temporary impacts will be limited to the footprint of the existing dock and associated access infrastructure, with the footprint of the existing dock to be replanted with appropriate brackish marsh plants upon completion of project activities. Access and staging will occur via existing roads, trails, and previously disturbed area in the footprint of the current dock to be removed. Some minor trimming of willow (Salix sp.) trees will be required but no trees will be removed as part of this project.
