Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Cl. 2, Section 15303; Cl. 11, Section 15311, Cl. 14, 15314
Reasons for Exemption
The project will construct photovoltaic (pV) arrays, appurtenant electrical equipment, HVAC thermostats, and EV charging stations on existing parking lots or previously graded and leveled areas. No excavation is proposed. These structures are consistent with the "small structures" and "accessory structures" listed in the CEQA Guidelines§ 15303 and § 15311 because they are supplementary to existing school buildings and facilities and do not exceed those facilities in height or area. No exceptions per CEQA Guidelines§ 15300.2 apply. The project does not expand the schools’ capacities, require new right-of-way, and does not involve landscaping activities that use known invasive plant species. All work would take place on Yosemite USD properties. No natural habitat would be disturbed.
