Document Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy would provide funding for the Greenville Indian Rancheria to acquire fee title to a 54-acre parcel on the north side of the community of Greenville. It borders both public and private lands and is situated just west of the Plumas National Forest’s Greenville Campground and Wolf Creek, approximately 15-20 miles south of Chester and Lake Almanor, and 23 miles from Quincy. It is an undeveloped forested site with gentle terrain, paved access, and electricity. The property is currently privately owned and vacant. The intent of the acquisition is to return a land holding to the Greenville Indian Rancheria, which intends to manage the property to restore and conserve a resilient forest plot and protect the ecological and cultural resources on the property. As part of the acquisition, the Greenville Indian Tribe will complete a Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment, baseline conditions report, and management plan.
