This project would include the installation of approximately 28.8 miles of broadband infrastructure in eastern Kern County. This project will support a middle-mile network as part of a statewide commitment to deliver 3,000 miles of broadband infrastructure within the State Highway System (SHS). Work will include the installation of subsurface Broadband conduit and fiber as well as the installation of underground vaults approximately every 2,500 feet. All work will take place within 30-feet of Caltrans rights-of-way. The areas of project impact in most areas will be limited to the existing paved surfaces, disturbed shoulders, and maintained Caltrans right-of-way.
