The City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has requested authorization to take emergency action, including reinforcing approximately 390 feet of an existing powerline road by raising it approximately 2.5 feet. In March 2023, flows of approximately 300 cubic feet per second (CFS) resulted in a breach to an existing powerline road near the Owens Lake Delta and assessor parcel number 026-220-08 00. The proposed road reinforcement is needed to protect Owens Lake Dust Mitigation infrastructure from anticipated flows in excess of 1,000 CFS for approximately 2 months this summer.
