Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MEN-35532-R1C, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Ron King, representing Selway Family Foundation. The project is limited to one (1) encroachment for the installation of a 40’ long railcar bridge spanning McDowell Creek. The encroachment will include piledriving bridge supporting piles to a depth of at least 20’ of penetration, welding attachment of the pile caps, piledriving wingwall piles to a depth of at least 10’ of penetration, welding attachment of steel plate wingwalls, backfilling and compaction of fill materials on the approaches, placing and welding attachment of the prefabricated bridge, and revegetation of the streambanks upstream and downstream of the crossing. This Agreement does not include rock armoring of the crossing, or the use of riprap or other material other than revegetation for bank protection.

The King McDowell Creek Bridge Project meets the criteria for categorical exemption type Class 1, California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15301 because the project involves installation of a permanent bridge at an existing stream crossing location on an existing farm road. No mature, scenic trees will be affected by this project. There would be no significant adverse impact on endangered, rare or threatened species or their habitat pursuant to section 15065. The project will not result in impacts that are significant when viewed in connection with the effects of past projects, the effects of other current projects, and the effects of probable future projects.
