Document Description
The project is located on SR-116 at Sheephouse Creek near Jenner, in Sonoma County, at Post Mile 1.1. The project will sawcut the collapsed wingwall at ground level. The above ground portion of the wingwall will be dismantled using jackhammers or similar equipment, and the wingwall lifted out of the creek using a crane operating from the roadway. The below-ground portion of the wingwall will remain in place.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is within Caltrans right-of-way. Access to the project site will occur from the roadway shoulder and crews will access the creek bed on foot to demolish and remove the failed wingwall. All heavy equipment will be restricted to paved surfaces and only personnel and light equipment will be allowed within the creek. Prior to the initiation of construction activities, THVF will be installed along the border of the work area to protect sensitive areas as defined by the project biologist.
