Document Description
DWR will work with Contractor HDR to perform a physical inspection of the Castaic Dam spillway slab, the interior & exterior walls of spillway, and the areas adjacent to the spillway walls along with the stream release outlet works upper flat section. HDR will set up rope access to inspect the inclined section of the spillway. SFD will also be onsite to facilitate the necessary clearances and lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the outlet works valves are closed and no water will be flowing during the inspection. Staging will be on existing roadways and improved lots. All work is within DWR right of way.

The State Water Project provides significant and important services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves data collection activities for a safe water supply. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. Because this activity can be implemented without any environmental impacts, the Categorical Exemption Class 6 will be used for CEQA compliance.
