Document Description
Project will implement fuel reduction activities along a section of Whispering Springs Road to aid in the egress and access in the event of wildfire. The project will reduce fuel 30 feet on each side of the road, in high and very high-hazard fire zones. The project site is in oak woodland habitat. The target fuels for removal are brush small and suppressed trees. Treatment activities include the felling of small trees 12 inches in diameter at breast height or less and removal of brush. Project will also remove dead and dying trees Target fuels to be hand cut using chainsaws, chipped or masticated. Mastication and chipper equipment will remain on the road surface. The chips will be broadcast on the ground as a soil amendment
