Document Description
This project will upsize old 4 inch water main in Albany St and Milano Ct and 6 inch in Clement in conjunction with a sewer main project in the same area. Upsizing old undersized mains increase fire flow and reduces maintenance costs. This will replace approximately 1774LF of water main with 8 inch pvc.
This project will replace existing VCP sewer mains in Albany Dr from Oliver to Elliot, Clement Ave from Albany to Malano Ct and in Malano Ct. This project eliminates 3 crossings where sewer mains and laterals pass through a storm drain and eliminates a backyard sewer easement. Replacing VCP sewer mains reduces inflow and infiltration and reduces maintenance costs. This is one of several projects to replace the aging mains in this neighborhood just north of the SRJC. This will replace approximately 1135LF of sewer main with 8 inch pvc.
A failing CMP storm drain that crosses Albany Drive at Oliver Lane has insufficient cover, and insufficient vertical separation from the existing sewer main. Preliminary site assessments indicate that cover and separation requirements cannot be met if the storm drain is replaced. The existing storm drain will be removed, and valley gutter will be installed.
