Reasons for Exemption
In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines and Section 15301c of the California Code of Regulations, projects involving negligible or no expansion of existing streets, sidewalks, gutters, and other similar facilities may be found to be exempt from the requirements of CEQA. The proposed project will be retrofitting, removing and replacing, or installing new ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps along existing sidewalks and will not be expanding existing facilities. In addition, there are no unusual circumstances that would justify an exception to the exemption. Therefore, staff has determined that there is no substantial evidence that the project may have a significant effect on the environment.
