Document Description
Remove and replace the failing, existing water system at the Tahoe State Recreation Area Campground to provide potable water to park visitors and staff. Work will:
• Excavate an approx. 1,500 foot long by 24-inch deep by 10-inch wide trench (within a previously excavated trench alignment);
• Remove the existing 2-inch waterline and install approx. 1,500 feet of new 2-inch waterline;
• Cover the new line with bedding sand and a compacted base topper to a depth of 6-inches;
• Install seven (7) hose bib risers each with stubs and shutoff valves in G5 (Christy) boxes;
• Install up to two (2) winter drain downs for freeze protection, and
• Install six (6) mainline valves with G5 (Christy) boxes.
A tracer line will be installed in the trench for easy access for future repair and replacement needs.
