Document Description
The California Department of Water Resources has executed a grant agreement (Grant Agreement # 4600014854) through the Small Community Drought Relief Program in the amount of $5,750,000 to the California Indian Environmental Alliance (CIEA). The California Indian Environmental Alliance (CIEA) is currently the Tribal Engagement Coordinator for the North Coast Resource Partnership and has been providing technical assistance on Tribal water and wastewater systems. The Project includes providing backup source connections and storage tanks to the Yokayo Tribe, the Manchester Band of Pomo Indian, and the Round Valley Indian Tribe to help them thrive during the current and future droughts. All three tribes own and operate a public water system for the tribal community, but due to the ongoing drought these systems require upgrades or additional storage tanks to ensure members have safe drinking water.
