Document Description
The purpose of this emergency railroad project is to install a temporary containment wall to protect the railroad tracks from a recent landslide, originating at the westerly coastal slope below the Casa Romantica property and extending to a point immediately adjacent to the railroad ROW. The slide has resulted in partial destruction of the Casa Romantica patio and landscaped footpaths and gardens above the railroad ROW. In addition, debris from the slide has crossed into railroad ROW and threatens the railroad infrastructure. Passenger service has been suspended. An emergency slope stabilization project led by the City of San Clemente is separate from this emergency project to protect the rail infrastructure.
