Document Description
The Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works - Airport Division is proposing to reconstruct the Terminal Apron to remedy existing pavement conditions and aircraft parking deficiencies, construct a covered passenger walkway to the new aircraft positions, and upgrade the trash handling area at the Airport. The project would also include stormwater, electrical, and lighting upgrades within the project area. The project is located entirely on Airport property and does not include the removal of trees or alteration of the surrounding environmental characteristics. The project area has been heavily disturbed by previous Airport-related activities; all areas within the project area have been previously paved over and built upon. The location of the project is within FEMA Flood Zone X, which is not classified as a special flood hazard area. There are no identified “unusual circumstances,” and the project is not expected to contribute or result in any cumulative impacts. The project is not located on any list compiled pursuant to Section 65962.5 of the Government Code (commonly referred to as the “Cortese List”). No hazardous materials have been identified within the project site. The use, transport, and storage of any potentially hazardous materials will comply with federal, state and local requirements. The project site is not in the vicinity of any properties that may meet any eligibility requirements to be considered a historical resource for the purposes of the California Environmental Quality Act (Public Resources Code § 21084.1) or a historic property under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (54 U.S.C. § 300308). There are no exceptions related to the project and the project is exempt from the provisions of CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines, Article 19, Categorical Exemptions, Section 15301, Existing Facilities.
