Document Description
Perform emergency road repairs, slope repair and rehabilitation of a landslide area (approximately 23,600 square feet) below the Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument lower access road in order to allow emergency ingress and egress to the monument. Work will: - Clear and grub areas to be excavated of all vegetation, existing structures, and rubbish; - Use a mechanical excavator to bench-cut the damaged slope to achieve a 2:1 grade. Each bench will have an 8-foot horizontal and 4-foot vertical cut totaling approx. 200 cubic yards; - Within the benches, install geogrid reinforcement, perforated drainpipes, and crushed rock; - Backfill the benches with competent material compacted to 90% to finish grade; and - Install fiber rolls and reseed for erosion control.
