Document Description
The proposed project involves removing the existing bridge structure, consisting of a 16-foot span, ballast deck steel girder and timber bridge. A new bottomless 16 feet wide and 30 feet long multi-plate culvert sized to accommodate a 100-year flood event will be installed on concrete footings of approximately 3 feet wide, 2 feet deep, and 30 feet long. Foot traffic or bracing for the multi-plate arch culvert during construction may be required within the stream channel, however, the existing 10-foot-wide stream channel along the length of the crossing will not be modified or disturbed with equipment. Work will occur when Dry Creek is naturally dewatered. Rock slope protection (RSP) headwalls, using 2- to 3-foot diameter rock, will be installed at the upstream and downstream ends of the culvert for erosion and scour protection. The project also includes bank stabilization along a fifty-foot stretch of creek bank located immediately downstream from the creek crossing.
