This project proposes to construct new ADA compliant combination shower/toilet buildings, complete accessibility upgrades at the existing campfire center and improve the adjacent pathways and parking stalls at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park to allow for access to these park facilities to all park visitors and to copmly with current legal mandates.

The project consists of the operation maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels including as "Modifications of existing facilities for disabled access" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR section 15300.4; the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced; construction and location of a limited number of new, small facilities or structures; and consists of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not include the removal of healthy, mature, and scenic trees.
