Document Description
The Project includes development of a skate plaza, pump track, and associated beautification elements at City Park to improve the mental health and foster equity for Pittsburg’s youth and community. The project site is approximately one and one-half acres in size and includes the construction of two pump tracks - one for beginners and one for experienced riders. One skate plaza is proposed, in which various seating areas will be included. The construction of one sign is included in the project scope which would be located at the entrance of the proposed plaza (southwest corner of Railroad Avenue and Civic Avenue. The installation of native and ornamental landscaping is proposed, including approximately 40 trees. The skate plaza and pump track will be railroad-themed to commemorate and embrace the rich history of the community in relation to the railroad system that dates back to 19th century.

The existing project site is currently utilized as a park; the proposed improvements would also constitute a park. The scope involves no expansion or construction of buildings and there is not a change in use of land. The proposed facilities are recreational facilities, which are consistent with the existing use of land.
