Document Description
Pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1652, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has approved the Lower Jalama Creek Fish Passage Implementation Project submitted by Laura Reige, The Nature Conservancy. The primary purpose of the Project is barrier removal for fish passage. The Project will mediate the limiting factors of fish passage, by removal of concrete weir structure at JA-1 and installation of rock ramp roughened channel at JA-2. The species likely to benefit from this Project include but are not limited to southern California steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), is designated as an endangered species pursuant to the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) (16 U.S.C. § 1531 et seq.) and a candidate species pursuant to the California Endangered Species Act (CESA) (CESA candidate for endangered species status; Fish & G. Code, § 2050 et seq.). Total Project size is 0.33 acres.
