Document Description
The project consists of maintenance dredging to remove approximately two hundred (200) cubic yards (cy) of accumulated sand and sediment over approximately one thousand two hundred and five (1,205) square feet of lakebed within the Lake Forest Boat Launch Facility, to allow for safe passage of vessels into and exiting the facility and is limited to the following activities: 1) Installation of a turbidity curtain surrounding the area to be dredged. 2) Use of a barge mounted excavator with a clam-shell bucket to remove accumulated sediments from within the boat launch facility. 3) Placement of dredged sediments on a paved portion of the facility to allow for dewatering prior to transport and disposal. 4) Transportation of excavated sediments via covered dump trucks to approved disposal site outside of the Tahoe Basin. The majority of the work will be conducted via barge mounted equipment and the excavated sediments will be transported by a temporary conveyor on the boat launch ramp to a paved area within the facility where they will be allowed to dewater and subsequently transported offsite.
