Document Description
The Contractor will be installing road surfacing treatment and re-striping the existing roadway along 87th Street and S. Park Plaza Drive in the Broadmoor Area. Two intersections will be improved with new traffic signals and sidewalk extensions. The construction will not expand existing facilities. All work will be conducted using the appropriate best management practices from the County of San Mateo Department of Public Works Maintenance Standards.

Section 15301 exempts the minor alteration of existing public facilities involving negligible expansion of use (such as modification of existing streets and sidewalks) and allows the addition of safety devices in conjuction with existing facilities. All work is to be done within existing rights of way on fully developed streets/sidewalks and will result in only minor alterations to the rights of way. All improvements are health and safety protection devices and will increase public safety for pedestrians.
