Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-VEN-33582-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison (SCE) as represented by Hazem Gabr.
The Project involves the removal of a deteriorated pole (Pole 88552E) and the installation of one wooden utility pole and caisson. Crews will drill a hole using a boom truck with a pole auger for the replacement pole and caisson immediately northeast of the existing pole. This pilot hole will be excavated to a depth of 15 to 20 feet with a diameter of three feet. Crews will install the 30-inch wide and 20-foot-long caisson within the hole. Crews will then install the pole within the caisson. While the pole is held in place, concrete slurry will be poured in between the caisson and pole for stabilization. Crews will then transfer the lines from the old pole to the new pole. The old pole will be removed using a boom and properly disposed of off site. Crews will backfill the remaining hole using native soil. Crews will access the site from Sycamore Road. Vehicles and equipment will be staged approximately ten feet around the poles along the existing paved road. Equipment and vehicles used to complete each activity will be restricted to include pick-up trucks, boom trucks, pole augers, and other non-mechanized hand tools.
