Reasons for Exemption
This project is exempt because it meets the conditions of CEQA Guideline §15303 (c) New Construction or Conversion of small structures as the project is for the replacement of one structure with a footprint of 1396 sf in floor area, and the replacement building will continue to provide lodging units for the existing motel. Class 3 consists of construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures less than 2500 sf including motels. The project qualifies for this exemption because the both the structure that will be removed and the replacement structure are less than 2500 sf and will serve the existing motel.
