Document Description
The activity proposes partial replacement of Secretary of State building roof. Only the upper-level membrane of the roof is proposed for replacement at this time. The lower-level roofs were replaced recently and does not need replacement yet. The activity includes removal and re-installation of roof mounted mechanical equipment, e.g., air handling units (AHUs). This is required to ensure that the area under the AHUs is properly waterproofed, and that curbs and flashings are effective. Removing and reinstalling AHUs will require use of a tower crane, located at the 11th Street side of the building. State will coordinate and obtain necessary traffic control plans and encroachment permits from respective jurisdictional agencies that protect public health and safety. All construction debris will be properly disposed of in compliance with existing regulations. Project benefits include building protection from inclement weather conditions.
