The Project purpose is to bring the Avon Marine Terminal wharf into compliance with the Marine Oil Terminal Engineering and Maintenance Standards (MOTEMS). The Berth 1 structure is no longer used for oil transfer operations, but continues to support some operations regulated by MOTEMS. Thus, the structure remains subject to the MOTEMS structural requirement. With the partial removal of the Berth 1 structure, the Terminal operations will become MOTEMS-compliant.
