Document Description
The project would remove approximately 0.26 acres of cattail marsh vegetation within a drainage ditch along Holland Road. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California built the drainage ditch concurrently with its construction of the Diamond Valley Lake to convey seepage flows from the reservoir. Removing the cattails will restore the hydrological function of the ditch and facilitate the natural flow of water through the drainage, which the growth of the vegetation has precluded. The ditch will be maintained annually following the initial removal of cattail marsh vegetation, as needed.
