The Project consists of replacing the existing aging hydropneumatic tank for the water distribution system and groundwater wells within the County of Fresno easement for the purpose of supplying potable water to WWD41. All new equipment will be installed within the utility easement area on previously disturbed land currently housing the existing water distribution site. The existing distribution system consists of two groundwater wells, two storage tanks, hydropneumatic tank, booster pump station and utility shed. The existing storage tanks, shed, pumps and wells will remain. The
existing hydropneumatic tank will be removed. The new hydropneumatic tank may be installed on the existing concrete footings or at a different location but within the existing site. The priority will be to maintain an operational water distribution system to continue providing water to the residents for WWD41. The work will consist of draining and removing the existing tank, installing the new tank on the existing or new footings and connecting it to the existing water facility. If new concrete footings are required, they will be installed within the existing utility easement boundary on previously disturbed soil. Foundation will be about 3 foot deep. Any clearing and grubbing that may be required will be less than 500 square feet. If any trenching is required, it will likely be less than 50 feet to install new ductile iron water main and connect to the existing distribution system. The new trench would be 24" wide x 48" deep. Some existing water main may be abandoned in place. The water distribution site occupies an easement on APN 135-120-12T. All work will take place within the boundaries of the easement. The project will improve performance and reliability of the existing facility.
