Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes immediate repairs of settled and cracked pavement on State Route (SR) 4 at post mile 6.5, in San Joaquin County. Excessive rainwater entered cracks in the pavement, resulting in differential settlement and the development of a parabolic slip plane failure to the bottom of the embankment fill. The scope of work includes filling large cracks with cement slurry, placing Hot Mix Asphalt, conform grinding at pavement joints, placing shoulder backing, and replacing traffic and rumble striping as necessary. All work will occur in Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of this project is to ensure structural integrity and avoid complete roadway failure. The project is needed to prevent the loss or impairment of life, property, or essential public services.
