Document Description
In an emergency response to a landslide that occurred on March 22, 2023, PG&E will be conducting a pipe replacement in the North Novato Area, near Olompali State Historic Park. A Right of Entry will be granted to PG&E to allow work to commence to repair the lines. Work will be as follows:
? The access route will be graded (<12” depth) to minimize the slope from the access road to facilitate safe entry and exit to and from highway 101.
? The curb and adjacent soil (<12” depth) will be removed, reducing the slope and matting safety concerns to approach existing elevation of Redwood Blvd.
? A filter fabric and road base will be placed on the access road from highway 101 to Redwood Blvd to create a solid surface for matting. This work will be done in conjunction with North Marin Water District to safely bridge utility.
? Construction will start receiving material to be staged on Redwood Blvd, south of State parking lot access road. Staging spoils will be stored in State Parks parking lot.
? PG&E trucks will utilize the parking lot for turnaround as will and TCE area for parking and the east lane form the parking lot to Redwood Blvd driveway. Welding trucks and larger construction equipment with enter via the access road from highway 101.
? Two strings of pipe, approximately 1100 feet long, will be fabricated and coated. They will then be filled with water and a one hour hydrotest will be performed. Once completed, the pipes will be drained, and the water will be contained in PG&E frac trucks.
? Once complete, pipe stringing pull back will commence. A second hydrotest will be performed once the pipe is in place. A tie in location will be excavated once pullback is completed within a PG&E easement, where PG&E will fabricate and install tie in piping. Once L-21F is tied in and gas is flowing, all excavations will begin backfilling by shading pipe with sand, then restoring with native material.
? Restoration of softscapes will be coordinated by a PG&E Environmental Field Specialist. PG&E will need to utilize the access road for any paving restoration and will be one of the final sites restored.
