Document Description
The proposed action within the project footprint include treatment of fire affected vegetation including removal. chipping, or decking of woody debris and dead trees on private non-industrial forests. The project will treat up to 2,500 acres of fire affected lands of private non-industrial forests which burned at moderate to high severity. The project would conduct site preparation and tree planting to re-stablish forest structure, followed by release treatments including herbicide application and manual release, to control brush regeneration and reduce competition for planted trees. Treatments will utilize best management practices including erosion control measures, avoidance of culturally or biologically significant sites, and watercourse protections. The project will remove trees posing a risk to landowners, reduce residual fuel loads, and restore forest conditions.
