Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SBA-31458-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison as represented by Hazem Gabr. The Project consists of the replacement of a deteriorated wood pole and associated caisson. The caisson is a seven-foot by 24-inch diameter column mold (aluminum tube) that will be installed approximately five feet from the existing pole and then the caisson will be filled with soil to anchor the pole. The new pole will be the same height as the existing pole. Prior to work, crews will trim the canopy of one coast live oak tree no more than five percent and the canopy of one western sycamore no more than ten percent to allow access of the pole scheduled for replacement. Once crews reach the work site, they will stage within the 25-foot work area at the new installation site. Crews will then drill a two to three-foot diameter hole that is six to ten feet deep using a boom truck with a pole auger. The aluminum caisson will then be installed at the site and the pole will be placed within the tube. Once the pole is stabilized, the crew will access the wires on the existing pole and transfer them to the new pole. The old pole and caisson will be removed. The hole will be filled using soil from the new pole site. All temporary disturbed areas will be returned to pre-construction contours.
